The Ultimate Sacrifice (2)

Treated as less than
all the while hanging as
more than
Can you imagine what He endured for us? Picture Him hanging there,.
Nails in his hands, nails in his feet, thorns wrapped around his head as the sweat
of  His brow drenched his body with blood.
Can you imagine the pain, the agony, and the prayer.
He didn't ask the Father to kill them.  He didn't ask Him to mask or take away his pain.
In the midst of his trial, He ask the Father to forgive them.
'Father forgive them for they know not what they do.'(Luke 23:34)

Oh to be like my sweet Jesus to come to a point where we not only ask Him to forgive us,
but when hurt and wounded be able to ask him to forgive our offender.

In this season of giving lets take a moment  to truly meditate on the  the depth of His love for us.
He didn't think about his pain. He didn't think  of ways in which he could have changed the situation.
He ask that they be forgiven.
Would you be able to do that? In the heat of the moment could you see yourself asking God to forgive the person who has just hurt you? This scripture was placed in my heart one evening as I was thinking about how someone had hurt me. As I read it it was as if I was reading it for the first time. To think that He endured for us cause me to realize the negative things I may endure is not totally about me.   It's about Him and living a life where His light can be seen regardless of the situation.  Because of his sacrifice my sins have been washed away.  Because of what he endured I am able to press on and move forward.  Because of his love I am reminded to pray for my enemies, bless those who curse me and feed those who despise me.  Because of Him I am .

"Therefore you now have sorrow, but I will see you again and your heart will rejoice, and your joy no one will take from you,"(23) "and in that day you will ask Me nothing, Most assuredly, I say to you whatever you ask the Father in My name He will give you." (John 16:22-23) NKJV

Father forgive us for our sins and help us to truly forgive as you have and as you do.  Father let your light so shine in us that in every encounter we have  you are seen and glorified.  Thank you for your sacrifice on the cross and thank you for loving us inspite of our faults.  In Jesus name I pray .. Amen
